Mexican Hat

The name of my wildflower is the Mexican hat,and the scientific name for it is Ratibida Columnaris.  Also the scientific classification is Asteraceae.  The height of the flower is 2-3 feet tall, and the colors of the petals are fire-red with splash of yellow  accent.  Blooming period of this flower is June threw September.  You can find these beautiful flowers in praries, on roadsides, waste places, and on slopes.  Also the reason they are called Mexican Hats is because of their black cone shaped heads, and drooping petals.  These flowers are out standing in hot humid climates.
